MIPS will help push Android adoption beyond mobile phones

Semi-conductor manufacturer MIPS announced on Monday that it has modified Android to run on MIPS processors and will release the source code to the public. MIPS currently supplies the RISC processors that power digital TVs, set-top boxes, digital picture frames and mobile internet devices.Smartbooks 101

Prototype Eee PC running Snapdragon, Android

Industry press have spotted Google`s Android running on a Snapdragon powered Asus Eee PC prototype at the Computex trade fair in Taiwan. While Android is no stranger to the netbook platform, this is the first time that it has been paired with the new Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset which offers a tiny power draw and reduced heat output.
