MSI Wind U100 Review

Rating: 7

The MSI Wind is a good sub-notebook– nay, a great subnotebook. The build quality is solid and convincing, the design is basic but all you need and the choice of hardware is perfectly balanced with the exception of the HDD – which still does give you a few advantages in terms of cost, capacity and modability. The Wind looks nice, feels nice and performs well even with the slightly bulkier XP option. It’s got all the connectivity you’ll really need, though the wireless card only supports slower connections, and it’s easy to use. To the point, nice and simple – it lives up to its name and flows.

CNET Editors` Review (MSI Wind U100)

Rating: 6.2

The MSI Wind U100 makes a positive first impression with its polished design and roomy (for a Netbook) display and keyboard, but it`s missing a handful of features--bigger battery, solid-state hard drive, and WWAN--that would turn it from a very good to a great on-the-go mini-laptop.

MSI Wind U100 Review

Rating: 8.5

Move over, Asus: MSI has skipped the imitation game that most other manufacturers have played so far and actually bested the Eee with the Wind. Its $550 price tag may make it $150 more than the original Eee, but the refinement and features MSI has added make it well worth the premium, especially when Asus’ 10-inch Eee runs for $700. For the moment, MSI’s Wind definitively blows away the competition.

MSI Wind U100-291UK - Exclusive Review

Rating: 9

The new version of MSI`s Wind is a very attractive proposition, offering some serious competition in the 10-inch netbook sector. Indeed, in this form factor, for the moment at least, it`s probably the best netbook available so is well worth a Recommended Award.

MSI Wind U100 Review

Rating: 8.5

The MSI Wind U100 is a great little notebook, offering the right mix of portability, features and price. It is priced slightly lower than the EEE PC 1000 with similar specs and seems to be a good alternative to it. It doesn’t have any major shortcomings. You can’t get more features than the MSI Wind’s at $550. It works great for casual and outdoor usage and isn’t a replacement for your desktop. We like this notebook and definitely recommend it.
