Reviewing: HTC Dream (T-Mobile G1)
The T-Mobile G1 (also marketed as the Android Dev Phone 1 and the HTC Dream in other parts of the world) is an Internet-enabled smartphone with an operating system designed by Google and hardware designed by HTC. It is the first phone to the market that uses the Android mobile device platform. It was released in the US and the UK in October 2008, and is now available in other countries including Australia, Netherlands, France and Germany.
Title: T-Mobile G1 Review
Pros: Excellent keyboard; good support for Google apps.
Cons: The lack of a virtual keyboard means that even entering just one or two letters involves flicking out the keyboard, which can be cumbersome; casing looks a bit cheap.
Overall Score: 6 out of 10
Although a good first outing for the Android open-source mobile operating system, we cannot escape the feeling that the designers were unsure of what they were trying to achieve.
